How to use the web log
The web log ("blog") enables you to read articles and comments
about
the situation with Colwall bridge and to give your own
views. Click Web
log to see what has been written so far.
When you read a blog article you can add your own comment using the
reply
form shown at the end of the page, after the current reponses. You do
not need to register, but you will be asked for a valid email address
and comments will be moderated, to
avoid spam.
Anyone who lives in Colwall or the neighbourhood can also register to
“post” an article.
If you wish to register, click Web
log on any Colwall Bridge page and click on the Register
button under the Admin heading in the web log sidebar. You will see a
pop-up window in which to provide a name to sign your posts and an
email address which will be used to send you a password, and to
validate your registration. When you have your password and
the
OK from the bridge web site admin you can:
Login on the
web log sidebar
under the Admin heading. You will see a tab page Dashboard containing
information about WordPress (the blog software), some links to get
started and some tabs you can click:
- Write
takes you to a page where you can
- type in
a post, using an editor like a small word processor
- give
the post a title, and choose a category if you wish
- Publish it on the
bridge web site
- Manage
provides facilities to edit and delete your posts
- Comments
allows you to edit comments on your posts
- Profile
allows you to change your details.
- Dashboard
takes you back to the WordPress starting page.
Sign Out of
the blog (top right) when you have finished.
